Kai Trump can count on plenty of prominent supporters as she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.

This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to play at the Annika tournament in Florida.

The former president, a passionate golfer, possesses several golf courses and frequently competes against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I can't reveal details but we have competitive games," she revealed.

Kai explained that her grandfather, unable to come, advised her: "Just stay calm."

"My grandpa essentially told me to go out there and have fun," she continued.

"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's focused on world affairs, so he's somewhat preoccupied."

Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and holds position 461 in AJGA standings.

However she can get advice from golf legend, romantically involved with Vanessa.

"He stands as the best player in the world," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."

She'll challenge several most prominent players in professional golf at the Annika, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.

Officials commented that involving Kai brings golf to wider groups, specifically with younger fans.

Kai boasts substantial online presence and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle label.

She begins at 17:30 GMT.
