Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025 Golden Joystick Ceremony
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and with a remarkable display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. This breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Excellence in Visuals.
Enhancing the studio's success, its talented cast also received personal awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers collected seven awards throughout the event.
Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by critics.
