Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community shared its support for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
